Modern Authentication and MAPI-HTTP

If you haven’t heard, Modern Authentication (aka ADAL), has now officially gone GA (https://blogs.office.com/2015/11/19/updated-office-365-modern-authentication-public-preview/) – which means that if you are utilising Office 365 services, particularly Exchange Online, and Office 2013/2016 as your client, you should really be looking at enabling this functionality for your end users.

The Secrets of SharePoint Site Mailbox

A Site Mailbox serves as a central filing cabinet, providing a place to file project emails and documents that can be only accessed and edited by SharePoint site members.

It can be used from a SharePoint team site to store and organise team email or via Outlook 2013 for team email, and as a way to quickly store attachments and retrieve documents from the team site.

Notes from the Field

I have been onsite working on remediating a partially completed Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 migration. This environment was then configured for Exchange Online Hybrid using ADFS 2.0 and Dirsync.

After reviewing the Autodiscover configuration, I discovered that something wasn’t right. In addition to this, I had received the following issues list from the customer.

Symptoms

  1. Outlook for Office 365 mailboxes is not able to be configured using Autodiscover. This occurred on both domain and non-domain joined machines.
